Advice in Medical Centres

We are a partner of the Nuneaton & Bedworth Healthy Living Network established with funding from the New Opportunities fund to improve the health and wellbeing of those living in the Borough.

As part of this initiative the bureau works in partnership with Nuneaton & Bedworth DIAL to provide advice and information in Medical Centres and other health settings.

By making advice available in health settings we are significantly improving people's health and wellbeing. Good advice to tackle non clinical problems, like low income and debt, relieves the stress and anxiety that often underscore a patient's clinical symptoms.

Our advice service helps to free up time spent by health professionals on patient's social problems, leaving them to concentrate on medical matters. Research has shown that Doctors have found that patients who have received CAB advice visited them less often and needed fewer prescriptions, saving on local health budgets.

We have a proven track record of helping vulnerable groups, like mental health service users and older people and are well placed to help Local Strategic Partnerships, Primary Care Trusts and others in local health economies reach their National Service Targets and those laid out in the Government's white paper 'Choosing Health'.

Currently we provide weekly outreach advice services at the following Health Centres:

The Gables Medicentre, 152 Goodyers End Lane, Bedworth CV12 0HU - Tuesdays 10am -12noon

Park Leys Medicentre, 2 Bennetts Road North, Keresley CV7 8LA - Tuesdays 12.30pm - 2.30pm

The Avenues Clinic, Manor Court Avenue, Nuneaton CV11 5HX - Wednesdays 9.30am -1pm
