Moneyplan Project The bureau is taking part in a pilot project to provide general financial advice. We can refer you to a local independent financial adviser (IFA) for advice on your finances - for example, insurance, mortgage, savings, pensions and equity release. We recognise that sortin out and planning your finances can be difficult especially when there is so many options to choose from. Independent financial advice can help you identify your priorities and make the financial decisions that best provide for the current and future needs of you and your family. But many people distrust financial advisers, often because they are scared that the adviser's main aim is to sell them something. Our project aims to give people access to high quality independent financial advice with the additional reassurance that the advice is given in association with Citizens Advice Bureau. How it works We can arrange for you to recieve generic financial advice from a local independent financial adviser. At the bureau you will get up to 30 minutes advice about your finances provided without obligation to you, the adviser is not allowed to sell you any financial products. Our adviser, Brendan Concannon is an experienced member of the Personal Finance Society. He is highly qualified to provide financial advice and is donating his time to the project without charge. What can I discuss with the Independent Financial Adviser? Brendan will help you identify your financial needs and priorities. This may include your life insurances, mortgage, savings and pensions. What happens if our Adviser thinks I need to buy a product? Our adviser is not allowed to sell you any financial products during the meeting. However if he identifies a need for a financial product or thinks that you would benefit from replacing an existing one he will explain the reasons why. He will also explain how you can generally access further independent advice.
